Rob Marciano out as ABC News and “Good Morning America” meteorologist after 10 years

The exit comes in the wake of a 2023 report claiming the meteorologist was "banned" from "GMA" tapings after he allegedly made a colleague uncomfortable.

ABC News and Good Morning America meteorologist Rob Marciano is no longer with the network after 10 years.

A source familiar with the situation confirmed the news to Entertainment Weekly. Details about the departure are scarce, but a March 2023 report from Page Six claimed that Marciano — who has been notably absent from Good Morning America for months — was “banned” from GMA tapings after he allegedly made a colleague feel uncomfortable.

A spokesperson for ABC News declined to comment, while a representative for Marciano did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.

Marciano, 55, joined the network in 2014, appearing on ABC News and the weekend edition of Good Morning America to fill a role previously held by Ginger Zee, who now appears on weekday broadcasts. He previously worked as an anchor for Entertainment Tonight and meteorologist for CNN.

His last reporting, centered on recovery after a storm devastated Shreveport, La., last summer, aired on ABC World News Tonight last week.

Last fall, Marciano celebrated 10 years with the network in an Instagram post that said he would be "contributing across all ABC shows and platforms" while being able to spend more quality time with his children on the weekends. "I couldn’t be more pumped to continue this journey with all of you," he wrote. "I always dreamed of working for this network as a kid, and my children are equally psyched that I will now be home most weekends!"

He also teased "an exciting new project with NatGeo that has me exploring some very, very cool stuff."

Puck News reporter Dylan Byers first reported on Marciano's exit, alleging that multiple staffers had made complaints about the meteorologist's behavior over the years.
