The Tampa Bay Rays (13-13) defeated the Detroit Tigers (14-11) 7-5 on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field. The win avoids a sweep for Tampa Bay in the finale of the three-game series. Randy Arozarena started the scoring with a solo homer in the bottom of the first that tied the game. The Rays then took a 4-1 lead in the second thanks to RBI hits from Ben Rortvedt, Jose Caballero and Yandy Diaz.
