The Duchess of Cambridge ignores BAFTA black dress code in floaty green dress
The Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the 2018 BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday wearing a dreamy, floaty green dress.
Kate Middleton ignored the black dress code followed by all other female celebrities at the BAFTAs, instead making do with a black belt and matching clutch.
While the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie and Lupita Nyong'o decided to follow the all-black dress code as a nod of support to the Time's Up movement, Kate Middleton did not follow suit.
It is likely that the Duchess decided it would be too much of a political statement, which members of the royal family are not encouraged to make.
I know the Royals aren’t supposed to get involved with “protests” or anything… but would it really have been THAT bad for Kate Middleton to wear black??? #BAFTAs2018

Perhaps Kate's choice in accessories is a subtle display of her support for the movement, instead.
While her dress was fairly simple, Kate made sure she upped the fancy levels with some seriously sparkly (and huge), jewels. The Duchess wore an emerald and diamond drop necklace with matching earrings, and styled her hair in pretty loose waves.
