FX’s “Fargo” is back in the Emmy running again after three years off with its fifth installment taking place in 2019 in Minnesota and North Dakota. Season 5 tells the story of a seemingly standard housewife who suddenly has to come to terms with her past when she is being hunted down. This returning cycle is cited 31 times across 22 categories on the 2024 ballot and you can see the complete list of “Fargo” Emmy submissions below.

Previous seasons of “Fargo” have done very well at the past Emmy ceremonies, with the first three seasons getting into the high teens for nomination tallies. However, the fourth outing was the first time the series saw single digit nominations, strictly in the technical races. But it seems this latest installment has generated enough goodwill to rebound and get back on its feet in this year’s Emmy race.

According to the ballots, the Season 5 premiere, “The Tragedy of the Commons,” is the most submitted episode for the series, competing in 10 categories, including writing and directing for creator Noah Hawley. The episode is a heavy, action-packed premiere, featuring a kidnapping and an intense journey for the housewife Dorothy “Dot” Lyon, played by Juno Temple, who is up for Best Limited/Movie Actress. Her Best Limited/Movie Actor counterpart is Jon Hamm as Roy Tillman, and there are also eight cast members contending in the supporting races.
