Adam Levine Returning to The Voice as a Season 27 Coach — Plus, See Who Else Is Joining the Panel

The Voice is going back to the future for Season 27: NBC announced on Wednesday that OG coach Adam Levine will be taking a load off in his red swivel chair for the first time since his exit nine seasons prior.

The Maroon 5 frontman joins a panel that will also include returnees John Legend and Michael Bublé, who will assemble his first team this fall during Season 26. Alongside them, country artist Kelsea Ballerini, who filled in for Kelly Clarkson during Season 20 (and has often appeared on the enduring reality competition), will make her debut as a coach.

Levine’s comeback is a real surprise, considering the circumstances under which he left the show in 2019. Not only had he taken heat for his support of one of his team members who hadn’t performed over another who had, he had given a checked-out Upfronts performance that was said to have incensed the powers that be.

Afterwards, Levine said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, “I do miss it, but I also don’t miss how much I had to work. I was just constantly working for so many years. Very lucky, very fortunate, very blessed and all that. But to be able to stop in this moment to spend time with my new, young family and have the greatest time ever — now I’m just a stay-at-home dad. I stay home and do very little.”

Season 27 of The Voice premieres in the spring of 2025; Season 26, in the fall of 2024. Its coaches will be returnees Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire (hot off her first win) and first-timers Bublé and Snoop Dogg.
