Adema will return to Bakersfield later this summer, bringing its nu-metal to the Nile Theater.

Founded in 2000, the Bakersfield band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Mark Chavez, vocalist/guitarist Tim Fluckey, guitarist Mike Ransom, bassist Dave DeRoo and drummer Kris Kohls.

Its self-titled debut album, with hit singles "Giving In" and "The Way You Like It," and follow-up "Unstable" brought the band worldwide success.

The band played the main stage during the 2002 Ozzfest tour. Its 2002 EP "Insomniac's Dream" featured the single "Immortal," which was written for the video game Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.

Adema has undergone lineup changes as members left, then returned, only to leave again. Currently, Fluckey, Ransom, DeRoo and Kohls are touring as a four-piece.

Doors open at 7 p.m., the show is at 8 p.m. Sept. 14 at the theater, 1721 19th St.
