Jun. 21—OSAGE — "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," the musical based on the famous book written by Mark Twain, will be presented by Cedar Summerstock Theater, June 27-July 7, at the Krapek Family Fine Arts Center at the Cedar River Complex in Osage.

Along with his best friend Huckleberry Finn, and his love interest, Becky Thatcher, the greatest Tom Sawyer exploits come to life on the stage, with foot-stomping blue-grass and country songs that prove fun for the whole family.

The production also falls in line with the troupe's focus on bringing youth actors to the stage. Several younger actors from Mitchell County will take part in the production.

Artistic director and founder Nancy Lee will direct the show. Jack Diamant, from the University of Miami, will portray the lead role of Tom Sawyer. Heidi Spesard-Noble returns to CST to serve as guest choreographer for the production.

Since 2017, Cedar Summerstock Theater has featured top-flight fine arts majors from colleges across the U.S. The unique company, the only one of its kind in the Midwest, presents four musicals during the summer.
