American Film Market Has New Home in Las Vegas

The American Film Market has a new home, this time in Las Vegas, for its 45th edition.

Organizers of AFM — The Independent Film & Television Alliance – have found new lodgings for their annual film bazaar at the Palms Resort Casino for the 2024 show to run Nov. 5 to 10. That follows the 2023 get-together taking place at the Le Meridien Delfina in Santa Monica after AFM left its longtime headquarters at The Loews, the iconic beachside hotel.

IFTA adds it has a host of film buyers and sellers representing players like Cornerstone, Arclight Films, HanWay Films, Blue Fox Entertainment, Film Mode Entertainment, Neon, FilmNation Entertainment, Lakeshore Entertainment and Millennium Media already on board as exhibitors at the Palms Resort.

“After extensive research, discussions with the board and invaluable feedback from stakeholders, this move underscores our determination to evolving AFM to meet today’s industry needs,” Clay Epstein, IFTA chairperson and president of Film Mode Entertainment, said in a statement.

The Palms Casino venue offers exhibitor office space, a 14 screen multiplex and a 170,000 square foot conference, meeting and event space.

“AFM was created by the independents and remains the independents’ market.  The industry has called for a fresh look at how the market can better serve a rapidly changing business. The board has made a monumental decision that allows us to better serve these needs.  We look forward to introducing everyone to the new AFM venue and its offerings,” Jean Prewitt, IFTA president and CEO, added.
