Ari Lennox Is Cozy And Cuffed In “Get Close” Music Video

Ari Lennox is back with her new single “Get Close.” Issued on Friday (Nov. 17), the track is produced by Wu10 and DZL. On her first solo release of 2023, the 32-year-old emotes her desires for romantic, physical touch and intimacy from her partner.
In the music video, directed by Wes, the singer and her lover enjoy the highs and lows of an intimate relationship. They cook a meal, share a bed, argue, and dance together in the comfort of their home.
“You like Tupac, I like Janet / So damn stubborn, I won’t have it,” sings the Soul Train Award-nominated musician. “I laugh at it, boobies grab it / Take a road trip, screw the planning.”
Ari Lennox’s last offering came in 2022 with the album age/sex/location which VIBE ranked No. 11 in the top 25 R&B albums of the year.
“I want people to literally just be able to light their incense or cigarettes,” she shared with Huffpost of her music shortly after the album’s release.
She continued, “Or maybe not cigarettes. Weed. I just want them to relax, know that there’s a space in my music where you can just relax, you can calm down, you can meditate. There is a space where you can just be yourself and where you can be seen as a woman, as a Black woman, as a woman of color.”
