The 'Vanderpump Rules' star is setting out to make judge Carrie Ann Inaba "feel like what she said was true" on Dancing with the Stars' Music Video Night
The pressure is on for Ariana Madix ahead of Dancing with the Stars' Music Video Night.
On last week’s show, judge Carrie Ann Inaba told the Vanderpump Rules star, 38, that she was a front-runner in the competition.
Following the performance, Madix told PEOPLE that Inaba’s comment was “very exciting” but added “a lot of pressure” as she moves forward in the ABC series.
“I don't want her to feel at any point in the coming weeks that she was wrong in saying that,” the reality star shared of Inaba’s praise. “I want to make her feel like what she said was true.”
Madix said that she and partner Pasha Pashkov hope to stay at the front of the leaderboard by “working hard, staying focused, keeping our eyes on our own paper and just doing the best version of us that we can do.”
During last week’s Monster Night, Madix performed an Argentine Tango to "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish. After the dance, Inaba, 55, told Madix, "I think you have what it takes to win it... you have something spectacular” while Derek Hough praised the performance by calling it "so beautiful" and celebrating her "flawless" execution of the dance.
As a result, Bruno Tonioli ended up giving Madix her first 10 of the season, which was also marked Pashkov’s first-ever 10 as a pro on the show.
Madix opened up to PEOPLE after the exciting moment about what she appreciates about receiving feedback from the judges.
“We're working so hard every single day and there's something about that hard work that feels so tangible when you feel like you put the work in and then people see it,” she said. “You get a good score, you've got good feedback. And so that feeling, it's a sense of accomplishment that I can't really describe. It's amazing.”
Pashkov also celebrated the pair’s achievement on Instagram alongside a video of the performance.
“Proud partner appreciation post😃 Ariana, thank you for trusting me and trusting the process,” he wrote. “I know how every Wednesday on the first day of rehearsals of each dance each week it can get super overwhelming when you see how challenging the next dance style and choreography is and how much needs to be learned within just a few days🤯 Especially when it’s a dance as detailed and nuanced as Argentine Tango!!!”
“But every week you put all of your energy and focus into getting it right and you never back down from a challenge💪 #teamnorules #dwts”
The Bravo star responded in the comment section, writing, “🥹🥹 thank you so much!!! honestly it would never come together if it wasn’t for how well you explain things and how much patience you have 💪🏼”
