Ashley Iaconetti and Giannina Gibelli are revealing the unexpected foods they ate during their pregnancies.

On a Thursday, June 14 episode of Iaconetti's podcast Almost Famous, which she co-hosts with former Bachelor Ben Higgins, 35, the expectant mom was joined by Gibelli, 31, and her partner, Bachelorette alum Blake Horstmann, 35. During the episode, the two women admitted they listened to their pregnancy cravings while expecting their babies — even when it led them to eat foods not recommended by some doctors.

Gibelli, who welcomed son Heath in April, spoke with Iaconetti, 36, who is currently pregnant with her second baby, about advice she received in the beginning of her pregnancy.

"I went out with a couple of my girlfriends and no one knew yet," Gibelli said of her pregnancy. "It was still my little secret, and I chose to tell this one mom and she told me the simplest advice, but for whatever reason, it just clicked beautifully at that moment. She was like, 'I did whatever made me happy.' It was so simple."

Gibelli adds that she centered that piece of advice as she went through her pregnancy.

It became "this really beautiful cycle of like, 'I knew my baby was happy because I was so happy too," she says. "And yeah, I still traveled. I didn't really restrict what I was eating, like I'm sorry, I ate sushi."

Iaconetti agreed, jumping in to add that she's been "eating deli sandwiches like crazy."

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, people should avoid eating foods such as luncheon meats and raw and undercooked seafood during pregnancy.

Last November, PEOPLE exclusively shared that Gibelli and Horstmann were expecting their first baby together. The news was surprising for the couple, but getting reactions from their family and friends was a "priceless" experience for the pair.

"No one was expecting it, but their reactions have been spectacular and we’re so grateful for the love and support. We shared the news with Blake’s family in Colorado and then Giannina’s family in Florida," they explained.

"Needless to say, there was a lot of screaming, happy tears and jumping around. I think our friends' jaws are still on the ground," Gibelli added at the time. "Our baby is so loved already."

In April, the couple announced they'd welcomed their first baby, sharing the news in a joint post on Instagram.

"His first breath took ours away 💙 meet Heath Orion Horstmann born on Good Friday 3/29/24 🦋 everyone is home happy and healthy — his pregnancy and birth were a dream come true ☁️," the caption began.

"Our lives are brighter, fuller, and forever better. thank you for all of the love and well wishes, Heath has so many people who love him 💫 we’re parents!"
