Taylor Ann Green had a rough season of Southern Charm last year for more reasons than one. She was dealing with drama within the friend group, sure, mostly due to the breakdown of her relationship with Shep Rose. However, her personal struggles were running even deeper. Last season, her former friend Olivia Flowers dealt with the sudden death of her brother while filming the show. Shortly after the season wrapped, Taylor unfortunately dealt with a similar situation. It was the worst kind of coincidence.

It was revealed that Taylor’s brother, Richard Worthington “Worth” Green, died last June. He was 36 years old. At the time, little details were released about his cause of death. Taylor and her family gave touching public tributes without delving into the ins and outs of what happens. Now, over a year later, we have some answers about Worth’s sudden and unexpected death and it only makes the situation more heartbreaking.

Worth’s cause of death

According to the autopsy report obtained by The U.S. Sun, Worth died of an accidental overdose on June 8, 2023. He was found in his bedroom in Raleigh, North Carolina just over a year ago. The report added that first responders found drug paraphernalia on the mattress of his bedroom. No other specifics were listed in the official report.

It’s gut-wrenching in general when someone dies, especially unexpectedly at such a young age. But to know that Worth was apparently struggling with drugs adds another layer of sadness to the situation. We can’t do anything but keep Taylor and her family in our thoughts and send them love and positivity as they process the news and continue their grieving processes.
