The crowd at the world premiere for Netflix’s Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F premiere was in for a treat Thursday night as Detroit-bred rapper Big Sean came out and performed prior to the film’s screening.

The film’s stars Eddie Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Kevin Bacon, Paul Reiser, Bronson Pinchot, Affion Crockett, Christopher McDonald, Damien Diaz and Chantal Nchako attended the premiere, as well as director Mark Molloy, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, composer Lorne Balfe and rapper Lil Nas X, who performs a new, original song in the film.

Others in attendance included Cedric the Entertainer, Martin Lawrence, Sugar Ray Leonard, Loni Love, Jay Pharoah, Sasha Pieterse, Keegan-Michael Key, Kyra Sedgwick, Kyle McLaughlin, Martin Bobb-Semple, Michael Massini, Elisa Donovan, Michael Blackson, Kyla Pratt, Reggie Hudlin and Byron Allen.

At a pre-party prior to the screening, guests could pose with replicas of Axel’s Chevy Nova, try on his Detroit jacket, eat Coney dogs and Better Made chips, drink Faygo soda and more. Guests were also gifted Champion-designed Mumford Phys Ed sweatshirts.

Additionally, earlier in the evening prior to the premiere, Beverly Hills Mayor Lester Friedman declared June 20 as “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” day in a private ceremony at Beverly Park Gardens.

Earlier in the evening, Beverly Hills Mayor Lester Friedman celebrated the success and cultural impact of the Beverly Hills Cop film franchise, which has delighted audiences globally since its debut in 1984.

Citing how the franchise has “significantly contributed to the positive image and global recognition of Beverly Hills, highlighting its beauty, sophistication, and vibrant community” the Mayor presented Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and star Eddie Murphy with a framed scroll. They were joined by Director Mark Molloy, original cast members Judge Reinhold and John Ashton, and several other city officials. The presentation took place in front of the iconic Beverly Hills sign which – for the first time in the city’s history – was rebranded with the film’s title
