The rom-com star says the movie becomes "more important as time goes by."

Billy Crystal is back at Katz’s Deli — and he’ll have what she’s having.

The actor who famously starred opposite Meg Ryan in the beloved romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally recently took a stroll down memory lane for a conversation with CBS’ Gayle King. While reflecting on Crystal’s decades-long career, the duo stopped for a bite at the restaurant so famously featured in the movie that people still flock there to relive a fan-favorite scene.

"It's an amazing phenomenon that this has touched people, and this little piece of history here in New York City,” Crystal said, sitting across from King. “You know, the movie was 1989.”

Katz's Delicatessen, which has been a New York institution for more than 130 years, is a popular tourist stop forever associated with perhaps the film’s most famous scene: an argument between Harry and Sally that prompts her to prove a woman’s ability to feign an orgasm. It ends with another diner delivering the legendary punchline, "I'll have what she's having."

The restaurant still honors the rom-com with a sign pointing out the notorious (and coveted) table, which reads: "Where Harry met Sally… hope you have what she had! Enjoy!"

Crystal went on to share positive memories from making the film with Ryan and his longtime friend, filmmaker Rob Reiner.

“He was a perfect director because he let me invent,” Crystal said. “He let us play. We added so much stuff as we went on.”

Asked where the movie sits with him so many years later, Crystal said, "It's actually more important as time goes by.”

“People fall in love everyday,” he continued. “People fall out of love everyday. People find each other, they lose each other every day. And new generations keep finding When Harry Met Sally. They keep discovering it, and we're forever young in that movie. And we represent them. They relate to us.”

Not too long ago, Ryan also reflected on the legacy of their famous restaurant scene — noting that while it's beloved amongst fans, her kids find it embarrassing.

"My son [Jack Quaid] just called me this morning and he's in New York staying at a hotel that's right across the street from Katz's Deli," Ryan told Carol Burnett during a conversation for Interview magazine. "My daughter was here and everybody was on speaker, and they were like, 'Mom, this is a very unique embarrassment.'"
