Earlier this month, Boy Meets World star Trina McGee took to her Instagram page to ask fans for “prayers for a safe delivery” as she announced that she is pregnant at age 54.

“At the tender age of 54 I have found myself pregnant,” she wrote. “Please bless us with your prayers for a safe delivery. Thank you."

Trina added in the post's caption: “Gonna sign off social media for a bit, thanks for your prayers and well wishes in advance.”

For context, when Trina was cast as Shawn Hunter’s teen love interest, Angela Moore, in the ABC sitcom back in 1997, she was more than a decade older than most of her costars — including then-17-year-old Rider Strong, who played Shawn.

And in a new interview with People, Trina has revealed that her kids only learned of her pregnancy when they read about it online — and while she didn’t think that it would be “a big deal,” one of them was understandably left feeling “pissed.”

And while Trina didn’t tell her children the news personally, she did reveal that she messaged her former Boy Meets World costars Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle, and Rider to tell them the happy news before it was made public.

Trina also told the publication that her pregnancy was “completely natural,” and that finding out she was pregnant almost three decades after giving birth to her youngest child came as a “shock” to her.
