Why did Brooke Shields wear Crocs to the 2024 Tony Awards?

If you thought the actress wasn’t relatable before, she shared on the carpet, “I got my Crocs! I couldn't do this in heels!” Yes, we’re talking about the shoes you can order online for only $50. Shields shared on her Instagram page that after undergoing surgery on both feet, her only option was to sport the comfortable shoe wear.

The actress was sure to show off her iconic look while walking the carpet on Sunday night, posing to capture the Crocs at every angle. And Shields still looked gorgeous rocking the shoes, albeit abnormal footwear for a formal event.

The rest of her outfit was as fancy as ever, pairing her bright yellow gown with a gold clutch, pearl earrings and a bracelet stack. She also showed off a sleek hairstyle which may have been styled with her new hair care brand, Commence.

While many who just got double foot surgery would opt to skip the awards or wear a shoe that is more toned down, Shields proved she isn’t like everyone else. The actress showed up to the event in a bright yellow Monique Lhuillier dress with the  matching pair of bright yellow Crocs.

Why did the actress get foot surgery?

While Shields had to present at the Tony Awards, she made sure that her feet were comfortable enough for the job. The actress shared about her surgery on social media a few days prior, showing off her boots and stating, “The feet pics are about to level up…”

Although many attendees prefer heels over flats, or Crocs, Shields doesn’t seem to mind and proved  that comfort rules over looks. But even though it may not be the go-to for many, Shields rocked the Croc look because she can pull off just about anything.
