Carnie Wilson is celebrating her father, Brian, on his birthday.

As the Beach Boys co-founder marked his 82nd year around the sun on Thursday, June 20, the Wilson Phillips vocalist shared a sweet throwback photo of them posing together on Instagram alongside a heartfelt message.

"Happy Birthday Daddy...," began Carnie, 56. "My love for you is eternal ...❤️"

Her post comes over a month after Brian's conservatorship was approved by a judge in May. Less than two weeks later, he made a red carpet appearance at a world premiere screening of the new Disney+ documentary The Beach Boys in Los Angeles.

At the event, Carnie and her sister Wendy — both of whom Brian shares with ex-wife Marilyn Wilson — opened up about their father's health in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"He is doing great! He is doing great. Everyday he is in physical therapy. I'm cooking for him, he's spending a lot of time with his children now, his family," said Carnie at the time. "I'm so happy he's here tonight."

Wendy said of his condition, "I think he's doing really good under the circumstances that he's going through right now."

She added: "But, you know, he's a survivor. That's my dad. He's very tough, a very strong person. So yeah, I'm glad he's coming tonight and I think that he'll really enjoy it, actually."

In February, Brian's family filed for his conservatorship, shortly after the Pet Sounds musician's wife, Melinda Ledbetter Wilson, died at 77 on Jan. 30, 2024. The pair married in 1995.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Brian is suffering from a “neurocognitive disorder (such as dementia)” that impedes his ability to properly take care of himself.

In a statement to PEOPLE in February, his family said: “Following the passing of Brian’s beloved wife Melinda, after careful consideration and consultation among Brian, his seven children, Gloria Ramos and Brian’s doctors (and consistent with family processes put in place by Brian and Melinda), we are confirming that longtime Wilson family representatives LeeAnn Hard and Jean Sievers will serve as Brian’s co-conservators of the person."

“This decision was made to ensure that there will be no extreme changes to the household and Brian and the children living at home will be taken care of and remain in the home where they are cared for by Gloria Ramos and the wonderful team at the house who have been in place for many years helping take care of the family,” said the statement.

Brian's longtime business manager LeeAnn Hard and manager and publicist Jean Sievers were approved as co-conservators in a Thursday, May 9 court filing, as previously reported by PEOPLE.

Additionally, his children — Carnie, Wendy, Dakota Rose, Dylan, Delanie Rae, Dash, and Daria — must also be consulted “regarding all material-related healthcare decisions."
