Some of Hollywoods most famous celebrities have received DUIs over the years, making many headlines and causing plenty of raised eyebrows. Thankfully, most of these reckless stars were brought to justice so we definitely hope they learned a lesson because driving under the influence is unforgivably dangerous.
Even though fatalities caused by driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol or drugs have declined in recent years, over 10,000 Americans are still killed by drunk drivers annually, per SafeHome.org. Along with that, 10 percent of all criminal arrests across the country are for driving under the influence. Many people have been arrested and caught for DUIs, including quite a few A-listers. Justin Bieber, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Khloé Kardashian; sadly, the list goes on and on. Although all too common, driving under the influence is a major offense and endangers the lives of everyone on the road.
Sometimes, people do it one time when they’re young and never again, but other times, it’s the byproduct of a crippling addiction. More than 20 million people in the U.S. have an addiction, per DrugHelpline. It’s not something to brush off. Some have called their DUI charges a wake-up call, and we’re glad they got the help they need. And we hope the rest can as well.

People reports that Justin Timberlake was arrested on DWI charges in the early hours of Tuesday morning, June 18. The singer pulled over after leaving dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, New York, and was reportedly on his way to a friends house. He was detained and is expected to be arraigned. A source told People that no one was hurt in the incident.

In late November 2023, Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador was sentenced to three years probabtion with a DUI and hit-and-run after her Septemeber arrest, according to People. The reality star caused property damage after crashing her car.
Ariana Biermann
Kim Zolciak’s 20-year-old daughter Ariana Biermann was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Zolciak said that her daughter did consume marijuana the day before the incident but denied any alcohol was involved. While she hasn’t been charged as of Aug. 16, 2022, she was released on a $5,120 bond.
Khloé Kardashian
Back in March 2007, Khloé Kardashian was arrested for a DUI, and was later charged with community service. But both she and her family constantly poke fun at it, posting her mugshot on social media and framing it.
Mel Gibson
So Mel Gibson was charged with DUI in 2006, and ten years later, he was reported saying to Variety’s Playback podcast, “It was an unfortunate incident. I was loaded and angry and arrested. I was recorded illegally by an unscrupulous police officer who was never prosecuted for that crime.” Gibson added: “And then it was made public by him for profit, and by members of — we’ll call it the press. So, not fair. I guess as who I am, I’m not allowed to have a nervous breakdown, ever.”
Kiefer Sutherland
Kiefer Sutherland was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving back in 2007, per Reuters. He later pleaded no contest and was sentenced to only 48 days in jail.
Keanu Reeves
Keanu Reeves was pulled over for drunk driving in Los Angeles in 1993. The Matrix star did admit to driving under the influence to avoid charges.
Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber was pulled over and charged with drunk driving, resisting arrest, and driving without a valid license back in 2014, per NBC.
Mike Tyson
Back in 2007, Mike Tyson pleaded guilty to drug possession and driving under the influence, only serving one day in jail.
Tiger Woods
In 2017, Tiger Woods was charged was a DUI, later saying to NBC. “I realize now it was a mistake to do this without medical assistance.” Tiger added, “I am continuing to work with my doctors, and they feel I’ve made significant progress.”
Lindsay Lohan
In 2007, Lindsay Lohan made headlines by being charged with DUI, possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor hit-and-run. She was arrested again for the same charges and for transporting a narcotic into a custody facility and driving with a suspended license, per EOnline.
Scott Disick
Before Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Scott Disick was charged with a DUI in 2001 when he was 18 years old.
Vince Vaughn
Vince Vaughn was arrested for a DUI, receiving charges of obstructing officers and public intoxication, per ABC. He pleaded no contest, later attended an alcohol education class, had three years probation, and pay a $390 fine.
Tim Allen
Tim Allen was charged with a DUI back in 1997, later sentenced to one-year probation and rehab.
Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton was arrested for a DUI back in Sept. 2006, reportedly having a blood alcohol level of 0.08.
Michelle Rodriguez
Michelle Rodriguez had to pay a $500 fine and spent five days in jail after pleading guilty to a DUI while in Hawaii, per People.
John Stamos
Full House star John Stamos was arrested for a DUI in the summer of 2015, later pleading no contest. Because of this, he wasn’t charged but was sentenced to three years of probation and counseling, per NBC.
Nicole Richie
Like her former Simple Life co-star, Nicole Richie was arrested for drunk driving and drug possession in 2003, and then again with a DUI in 2006, per People. She was in jail for only three days, released early due to overcrowding, and later enrolled in an 18-month anti-drinking driver education program, per People.
Mischa Barton
Mischa Barton was arrested for a DUI back in 2007 for driving drunk and without a license. Per People, the officers said she was booked “without incident.”
Amanda Bynes
Many remember when Amanda Bynes made headlines for getting arrested in 2012 for getting a DUI in Calif after sideswiping a police cruiser. Her license was suspended after that incident and a hit-and-run a few months after. She was arrested for a DUI again in 2014, per USA Today.
Jamie Pressly
Jamie Pressly was charged with a DUI in early 2011. She pleaded no contest and was sentenced to three years probation, per CBS.
Farrah Abraham
Back in March 2013, Farrah Abraham nearly hit a police car in Nebraska, later arrested for a DUI for having a blood alcohol level of .147.
Craig Robinson
The Office alum Craig Robinson was pulled over in 2008 for a traffic violation in Culver City, CA. It was reported that he had ecstasy and methamphetamine in the car, getting charges for drug possession and a misdemeanor for a DUI.
Kevin Hart
Kevin Hart was pulled over for nearly crashing into a gas tanker, later failing a sobriety test in 2013. He later tweeted, “This is a wake up call for me, I have to be smarter and last night I wasn’t…everything happens to a reason…”
Chris Pine
Chris Pine was leaving a wrap party for Z for Zachariah at around 2 AM when he got pulled over for a DUI in 2014. He pleaded guilty, but was reportedly calm and signed a bunch of autographs, per NZ Herald.
Debby Ryan
Back in 2016, Debby Ryan was charged with felony DUI after crashing into another vehicle in Calif, having a blood alcohol level of .11. The former Disney star took to Twitter saying, “Over the last few days I have had the chance to think about my actions, and I wish I had used better.”
