The country music festival Kickoff Jam, which had been slated to include headliners Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood and Alabama, has been canceled. The festival had been set to take place Aug. 30-Sept. 1 at Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach, Fla.

“After the success of Gulf Coast Jam [held May 30-June 2] this past weekend in Panama City Beach, we realized the weekend after Memorial Day is a much better time to host a festival,” Kickoff Jam producers stated in a post on the festival’s Instagram page. “So, we are going to cancel Kickoff Jam and provide refunds.”

The three-day festival was set to be hosted by media personality Storme Warren. The Friday lineup was to include eight-time Grammy winner Underwood, Needtobreathe, Lauren Alaina, Restless Road, Carter Faith and Kayley Green. The Saturday night lineup, led by Country Music Hall of Fame member Brooks, was also set to include Randy Houser, the Oak Ridge Boys, Rhett Akins, Mackenzie Carpenter and Allie Colleen. The Sunday night lineup was to feature two-time Grammy winners Alabama with a special appearance by Randy Travis, along with openers Jamey Johnson, Tyler Farr, Gavin Adcock, Pam Tillis and Catie Offerman.

When the festival was announced in mid-April, festival executive producer Rendy Lovelady had said in a statement, “I’ve been doing this for 40 years, and without question, this is the biggest show we’ve ever put on. We’re excited to celebrate five decades of country music in Panama City Beach!”

Refunds are being offered for purchased tickets, with details available at kickoffjampcb.com.
