Couple Went as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for Halloween in 2020, the Post's Caption Aged Perfectly

A resurfaced Instagram post showed Makayla Stephens and her husband Nick dressed up as the "Cruel Summer" singer and Kansas City Chiefs tight end

A couple who went as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for Halloween in 2020 appear to have predicted the celebrity pair’s future connection.

In a post shared on Oct. 31, 2020, Instagram user Makayla Stephens and her husband Nick Stephens had dressed up as the singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end — and the accompanying caption has aged perfectly.

“I don’t know any world in which Taylor Swift + Travis Kelce would be in the same room together, but apparently in this one they’re married? #HappyHalloween,” wrote Makayla at the time.

In the photo, Nick sported Kelce’s No. 87 jersey and eye black under his eyes, while Makayla wore white jeans, a pink sweater and a pink glitter heart around her right eye that appeared to be inspired by Swift’s Lover album cover.

The post resurfaced this week on X, thanks to news of Swift and Kelce’s rumored romance, and many social media users couldn’t help but comment on the picture in light of recent events.

“You should go and buy lottery tickets,” wrote one person in the comments section, while a second commented, “I feel like they owe you a double date.”

“Insane,” added a third.

Swift and Kelce, both 33, made headlines on Sunday when the pop star supported the sportsman during the Kansas City Chiefs’ 41-10 victory over the Chicago Bears.

The “Cruel Summer” singer joined Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce, in the tight end's suite at the Arrowhead Stadium and was spotted enthusiastically cheering.

In a video posted to X by the NFL, Swift appeared to jump up and down and shout "let's f---ing go" after Travis scored the impressive touchdown during the game.

And on Wednesday, Travis talked about the night for the first time in a new episode of his podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment.

“Man, that was a crazy game,” Travis told his brother and co-host, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. “It was just action-packed,” he said and called the game “exciting” for more reasons than just the Chiefs’ win.

“Shout out to Taylor for pulling up. That was pretty ballsy,” Travis continued of the megastar, adding, “She looked amazing.”

Travis also commented on seeing Swift celebrate his win — and his touchdown — alongside his mom. “To see the slow motion chest bumps, to see the high fives with Mom, to see how, you know, Chiefs kingdom was all excited that she was there — that s--- was absolutely hysterical and it was definitely a game I’ll remember, that’s for damn sure,” he said.

The NFL star also revealed that Swift made quite the impression on his friends and family. “I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her — the friends and family,” he said, adding that “everybody was talking about her in great light.”

A source previously told PEOPLE that Kelce "rented out" a rooftop restaurant to host a party for his friends and teammates following the victory, and in a photo first obtained by TMZ, Swift was seen with her arm wrapped around Kelce’s neck at Kansas City's Prime Social.

The source said that the duo "showed up together and were cute and normal, just hanging out and chatting,” adding that it’s “super, super early days,” for the pair.

“They’re having fun and getting to know each other,” they said.
