Like all pop stars, Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) has her fair share of overzealous fans, but in the trailer for Smile 2, her devotees seemingly come bearing demented grins. Watch the full clip below.

“Something really crazy is happening to me,” Scott says after witnessing a death. “I keep seeing this face everywhere.” After experiencing a mental breakdown, she screams, “Stop smiling at me!”

Parker Finn returned from the original Smile to write and direct its sequel, with Kyle Gallner reprising his role as Joel. The cast also features Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Peter Jacobson, Raúl Castillo, Dylan Gelula, and Ray Nicholson.

“About to embark on a new world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley begins experiencing increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events,” reads the official logline. “Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her dark past to regain control of her life before it spirals out of control.”

The original film was an unexpected success, grossing over $200 million worldwide on a $17 million budget. It centered around a psychiatrist named Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) who becomes tormented by a similar curse.

Smile 2 will haunt theatergoers beginning on October 18th.
