Showtime has shared the first official trailer for The Curse, the upcoming surreal comedy series starring Nathan Fielder and Emma Stone.
As we gleaned from last month’s teaser, The Curse stars Fielder and Stone as Asher and Whitney, husband-and-wife hosts of an HGTV series. Their show’s premise is flipping houses all across their sleepy hometown, which they claim is an effort to better their “local community.” However, it doesn’t look like that entire community is totally on board with the shiny new houses in town. (Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?)
Inflated property taxes aside, Asher and Whitney really want the world to see them as good samaritans. But after Asher is caught on camera fumbling the optics of a would-be good deed, the couple are subjected to a mysterious curse that only amplifies this whole existential crisis they’ve got going on. Sounds like great television!
The Curse, which was co-created and executive produced by Fielder and Benny Safdie (who also stars), premieres November 10th on Paramount+ and Showtime. Check out the trailer below.
The Curse marks Fielder’s first TV project since The Rehearsal, which we named one of the best shows of 2022. Stone will also star in Yorgos Lanthimos’ new film Poor Things, due out in December.
