Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf has been exploring his interests outside of football, and the 25-year-old NFL star tells PEOPLE how he has been flexing his creative muscles these days.

"I'm trying to transition into acting or the movie space when I get done to try to make a name for myself there," Metcalf says. "In my free time, if I'm not playing video games or talking to my family, I try to come up with movie ideas or TV ideas." He then adds that some of his original ideas include "creative inventions" outside of film and television.

Metcalf explains that he's "pretty much in the entrepreneur space right now," as he and the Seahawks enjoy a 3-1 start to the 2023 NFL season.

His favorite film genre is horror, specifically, "doll movies are something I look forward to," he shares, naming Annabelle, Dead Silence and The Conjuring as his favorites.

Despite his passion for film and television, Metcalf says he's not interested in participating in any non-scripted projects like Netflix's Quarterback series or HBO's Hard Knocks while he plays football.

"I don't think I would participate in something like that because when I'm done with football, I want to be completely done with it," he explains. "I don't want to be known as 'the football player' when I get done playing football."

One project Metcalf was excited to lend his voice to is his new partnership with lululemon. The NFL star is the brand's newest ambassador and will appear in their "Get Into It" campaign, highlighting lululemon’s popular ABC Pants.

Inititally, Metcalf was intrigued by working with the brand because "you don't hear them working with a lot of NFL athletes, so that was the reason number one," he explains. "And then just diving deeper into the brand, they have a unique style to go along with my style, and I think we're both one of one."

The wide receiver describes his personal style as "disruptive," explaining that he likes "to go outside of the box and not do stuff of the normal, manly generation, as some would say." Metcalf notes that his wardrobe includes "bright colors" and "different types of animal prints" that capture his style.

Metcalf invites few distractions into his life during the NFL season, and almost exclusively spends his time at the Seahawks facility or his home when the season is in play. "When I come home from work, I'm pretty much in the house. I try not to leave my house as much as I can because after work I'm pretty exhausted," he says.

Coming off of a 3-1 start to the season, Metcalf claims that the Seahawks' "hopes are pretty high" for the remainder of the season as the team continues "to build on that success we've had" in recent weeks.

On Monday, Seattle defeated the New York Giants in a dominant 24-3 victory at MetLife Stadium.
