Emma Stone is leaving both her scarlet "A" and scarlet hair behind.

After all, when the Poor Things actress debuted a recent look, it no longer featured her signature red locks.

Emma showed off her new dark chocolate 'do while promoting her new film Kinds of Kindness alongside costar Jesse Plemmons on Today June 20.

The 35-year-old's latest transformation came one month after she attended the Cannes Festival in a reddish, light brown ponytail. But she's also no stranger to different hair colors, as she often switches between shades of red and blonde. In fact, since her reddish hair is her most worn look, it's easy to forget that Emma is a natural blonde.

And it wasn't until her breakout role in Superbad that Emma made her official pivot to redhead.

"I moved to LA when I was 15 and so a lot of roles I was up for were very blonde cheerleady roles," she explained on the SmartLess podcast in December. "I didn't fit those very well and so I thought if I dyed my hair brown, it would really set me apart. It didn't get me any parts but a couple of years later, I auditioned for Superbad."

"I was at the camera test and Judd Apatow said, ‘Well, maybe she could have red hair because the other girl in the movie has brown hair,'" she continued. "So, we dyed my hair red and the rest was history."

And Emma's celebrity longtime hair colorist Tracey Cunningham, who took on the task, knew she would dazzle in red.

"Without hesitation I made her really red—and she looked incredible," Tracey told Refinery29 in 2018. "I always tell people that one of the biggest reasons why Emma's hair looks so incredible red is because she looks like a redhead. Despite the fact that her natural color is blonde, the red suits her so well."
