Red Snapper Fish Company in Enderis Park is getting a new owner and a new name in the coming months.

Kenneth Mays is opening his own business, Five Corners Fish Market, at 6016 W. Lisbon Ave. It will remain similar to Red Snapper Fish Company, which Mays currently manages.

It'll still have five or six fried fish selections on the menu available as an entrée or in sandwiches and tacos, with sides like fries and mac and cheese.

"It kind of fell into my lap," Mays said. "The owners were looking for someone to take the lease. I have my own group of followers and am ready to do my own thing."

Mays is applying for a liquor license and is planning to add slushee drinks to the menu.

"I have a patio and I want to put out picnic tables so people can dine in and have a drink," Mays said.

He plans to take over and switch to the new name in spring.
