Evan Abood set to perform around the area the next two weekends

A little winter jam session is always enjoyable. Head down to Georgetown Vineyards on Saturday to hear the vocal stylings of Evan Abood. The acoustic guitarist and singer will perform from 5 to 8 p.m., covering classic hits to soothe the Gen-X soul and more. You can follow him as he is also scheduled to perform Jan. 26 at The Boatyard at Buckeye Lake and Jan. 27 at The Barn in Zanesville. For more information on this weekend's show call 740-435-3222. Winter race

The Guernsey County Runners and Walkers Club, otherwise known as GROW, will host the Run Your Ice Off 5K at 2 p.m. Sunday, beginning at the City Park Armory. The race will consist of a chip-timed 5K, with timing services provided by Muskingum Multisports of Zanesville. Following the race, runners will be able to recharge with hot food, snacks and bottled water at the finish line. Participants can register for the race by visiting www.runsignup.com. Free yoga class

Wrap up your Monday with a good, long stretch. Join Move Staffing as they host MOVEment Monday, a free yoga class Jan. 22. The class is open to all levels and is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. Leading the class will be Susan Jeffries. There will be an additional free class scheduled for Monday, Jan. 29. Adult magic show

Check out the aptly titled 'An R-Rated Magic Show' with Grant Freeman in Columbus. Who doesn't love the combination of magic and comedy? Watch Grant Freeman as he performs magic and cracks jokes at the Jo Ann Davidson Theatre at the Riffe Center. Be prepared for strong language. The show is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. on Saturday, with tickets ranging from $30 to $62. There is a limit of eight tickets per person/household. Join local author Anne Blackburne on Saturday at Bookology as she signs copies of her newest release, "Ruth's Gingersnap Surprise." The Amish romance follows the story of young Ruth, a widow who must decide if she's ready to take the next steps with the handsome widower, Jonas, and his young daughter.
