New restaurant coming to Haynie's Corner

The Cosmic Egg will be the name of a restaurant coming to Haynie’s Corner as part of "The Yoga Space" building incorporating the cafe-pizzeria-bar, a yoga studio, and Airbnb apartments. No opening date has yet been announced.

The Cosmic Egg will be at 15 Jefferson Ave.; 812-459-4967.

Second Crumbl Cookies opens in Evansville

Crumbl Cookies will hold the grand opening for the West Side store on Friday, Aug. 4 and Saturday, Aug. 5, beginning at 8 a.m. each day. One party box will be given away.

The West Side Crumbl Cookies is at 5435 Pearl Drive, Suite 2.

New authentic Mexican food truck

El Chipaneco Mexican Food is a new food truck in Evansville serving authentic favorites such as quesadillas, guaraches (thick corn tortillas with meat, bean and vegetable toppings), flautas, empanadas, enchiladas with mole sauce, torta sandwiches, tacos and more. It's Volksfest time

The Evansville Germania Maennerchor will hold its 61st Annual Volksfest on Thursday, Aug. 3, beginning at 11 a.m., through Saturday, Aug. 5, ending at 11 p.m. Thousands will roll through the hall on Fulton Avenue for live German music, beer, and food including special recipe Bratwurst, pig knuckles, mashed potatoes, kraut balls, potato salad and more. Food is served beginning at 11 every day. Admission is free for all ages until 2 p.m. After 2 p.m. it becomes 21 and over. After 4 p.m. there is a $5 admission charge. Anyone under 25 should have 2 forms of government identification, one with a photo.

Louisville brewery/restaurant opens Owensboro location

Goodwood Brewing + Spirits, which is based in Louisville, has opened a sixth restaurant on the Owensboro riverfront. Enjoy a full menu casually craft food such as Goodwood Totchos with house beer cheese, a grilled kale caesar salad with cornbread croutons and pecorino romano cheese and a brisket reuben with pickled cabbage. Accompany your meal with Goodwood's barrel-aged beers and a full bar with craft cocktails.

Mexican snacks truck in Evansville

La Michoacana on Wheels is a new Mexican food truck in Evansville vending traditional lighter Mexican snacks such as street corn, ice cream and milk shakes, aguas frescas, churros, chicharrones preparados (a large fried wheat crisp with toppings) and more. 'Barkuterie' plates at Newburgh microbrewery

Myriad Brewing Company will now be offering "barkuterie" plates for dogs at the Newburgh taproom. The plates will be offered on weekends beginning on Friday until sold out. They will be $7 and will contain cheese, fruit, veggies and dips that are pup friendly. The plates will be provided by and proceeds will benefit Warrick Humane society.

All you can eat breakfast

The Newburgh Lodge F&AM #174 will host an all you can eat breakfast on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 7-10 a.m. On the menu are made from scratch sausage gravy, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and fresh baked biscuits. Adults eat for $10, kids 12 and under for $5. The event is open to the public.
