Spoilers ahead for season three of Emily in Paris.

Netflix’s Emily in Paris returned for a third season in December 2022, following American marketing exec Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) as she juggled two bosses and two love interests. Viewers may still be in shock after the season finale’s huge cliffhangers, but rest assured, the runaway hit will be back for more escapist adventures and high-fashion looks.

The official logline for season four reads, “After the dramatic events of Camille and Gabriel’s misbegotten wedding, Emily is reeling: She has strong feelings for two men, but now Gabriel’s expecting a baby with his ex, and Alfie’s worst fears about her and Gabriel have been confirmed. At work, Sylvie is forced to confront a thorny dilemma from her past for the sake of her marriage, and the Agence Grateau team navigates personnel shakeups. Mindy and the band prepare for Eurovision, but when funds run dry, they’re forced to get thrifty. Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is undeniable as they work together towards a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to undo everything they’ve dreamed of.”

Here’s what we know about season four.

Seasons three and four were filmed back-to-back.

The fourth season of Emily in Paris was actually ordered nearly two years ago, with Netflix renewing the show for both seasons three and four in January 2022. The streamer and Collins announced the news then, with the renewal coming soon after season two dropped.

Per Variety, the two seasons were filmed back-to-back in France and Rome.

The first-look stills of season four is already promising a fashion extravaganza.

Lily Collins has teased that season four will include a “Roman holiday.”

In a short video presented during Netflix’s June 2023 Tudum event, Collins teased what’s in store for season four. The actress started by bringing up all of the questions left from the dramatic season three finale. “Is Alfie still heartbroken? Will Gabriel get his Michelin star? Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision? … Will Sylvie’s rekindled love last?” she asked. “And the question on all of our minds: Will Emily and Gabriel finally get together?”

Collins also promised the drama would only keep ramping up, noting that Emily’s life will take “some unexpected twists” and teasing both a Roman holiday and hard choices ahead for the expat.

“Emily is gonna have to decide if everything she’s ever wanted is really what she needs,” she said.

Most of the cast will return—including Alfie.

Most of the show’s main players are guaranteed to return, including Collins, Ashley Park (Mindy), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Camille Razat (Camille), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Samuel Arnold (Julien), and Bruno Gouery (Luc).

As for Lucien Laviscount’s Alfie, who left Emily after learning about her feelings for Gabriel when Camille revealed them, series creator Darren Star told TV Guide in June 2023 that the Brit would likely still be part of the show, as Emily will have to balance working with him along with her own lingering feelings.

“Season 4 is going to be more about navigating complicated relationships; personal relationships and work relationships, and how they come into conflict with each other … Emily is still going to be working with Alfie, Gabriel, and Camille. Those work relationships are really fraught with emotional conflicts,” he said.

One cast member who likely won’t return for the entire fourth season is Kate Walsh, as season three saw Madeline decide to shut down the branch and return to Chicago. But there’s always a chance Emily’s former boss could show up for a scene or two.

The Emily-Gabriel-Camille love triangle will have to deal with “the prospect of the baby.”

Season four has a lot of ground to cover after the finale’s several cliffhangers, including Camille and Gabriel’s breakup at the altar, Emily and Alfie’s subsequent breakup after Camille’s confession, and the big reveal that Camille is pregnant. Back in December 2022, Star told Entertainment Tonight the pregnancy would seriously complicate whether Gabriel and Emily finally act on their feelings for each other. However, the creator also said it was unlikely that we’d actually see Camille give birth any time soon.

“It's very clear in season 3 that it’s a big dream of [Gabriel’s]. He wants to be a father and I think he was excited and is excited about the idea of fatherhood, but you know, our show doesn’t move that quickly,” Star said. “One season really covers a couple months … We’ve had three seasons and maybe six months of actual time [have passed], so I’m not sure we’re going to actually see a baby in season 4. But I think that we’re going to have to deal with the prospect of the baby.”
