'Farmer Wants a Wife' star and Wisconsinite Grace Girard has a new boyfriend, Racine city official Trevor Jung

She went all the way to Colorado on a quest for love, but ended up finding a beau in her own backyard.

Former "Farmer Wants a Wife" star and Caledonia resident Grace Girard is dating Trevor Jung, the transit and mobility director for the City of Racine and a Wisconsin Democratic National Convention delegate.

"It's been really special to all-of-a-sudden find this," Girard, 26, told the Journal Sentinel. "I think it's perfect timing, but also the weirdest timing for me. It's been really, really serendipitous."

Last year, Girard applied and got cast on Season 2 of Fox's "Farmer Wants a Wife." The show filmed last fall and aired this year.

There were four farmers, each with a crop of daters attempting to wrangle their hearts. On the season finale, Farmer Brandon Rogers chose Girard.

But, during the reunion, which aired in May, it was revealed that the two were no longer together. They split shortly after filming concluded, but had remained close friends, Girard told the Journal Sentinel around that time.

At that point, Girard said she wasn't seeing anyone, but was "open to it" and looking forward to the future. About a month later, she's officially in a new relationship and "feels amazing." The couple hard-launched on Instagram last week.

They're both extroverted, have a "deep commitment" to their families, enjoy being on the go, making friends and entertaining, the couple shared in a phone interview this week.

Here's a look at how they met, whether or not Jung has watched his girlfriend's season of "Farmer" and more:

How 'Farmer Wants a Wife' star Grace Girard and Wisconsin DNC delegate Trevor Jung met

Earlier this year, Jung spoke at a leadership forum that Girard, a communications associate, attended, the pair said. Jung, 28, was there to talk about the role of local government and civic engagement.

"He did a great job and he was very endearing and I just thought he looked great in a suit," Girard said. "I was very attracted to his ambition and the way he worked the crowd that was there. That just made me really start to fall for him."

Jung, who was born in Russia, was adopted at 2 years old by his dad, a fourth-generation Racinian, he told the JS.

The Joe Biden superfan said he's been into Democratic politics since he was a kid. Back when President Barack Obama was running for president, Jung said, he would have his dad drop him off at the local Democratic Party headquarters in downtown Racine to make phone calls and do door knocking.

"It was basically free daycare for my dad," Jung joked.

After graduating from Case High School, he studied urban studies and urban planning at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he graduated from in 2017.

In 2019, Jung became the youngest person elected to the Racine Common Council since 1862, according to a Racine County Eye report. Months after being re-elected in 2021, he resigned to become the City of Racine’s transit manager. The upcoming DNC — which will be held in Chicago Aug. 19-22 — will be his second as a delegate.

Following the leadership forum, Girard followed Jung on Instagram and he immediately followed her back. When the show was nearing the end of airing, Girard expressed her interest in Jung to two of their mutual friends and they put in a good word for her, she said.

"We have a lot of similar people in our lives, so it's kind of crazy how many people know both of us and the overlap," Jung said. "So, it's really cool."

Their first date was at Milwaukee's Boone & Crockett. It was a double date with Jung's buddy, who's dating one of Girard's college friends. Girard graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in December 2019.

While Girard was running a bit late from getting a hair blowout, apparently the wait was well worth it.

"Her hair looked so gorgeous, and she came in laughing, and I thought, 'Wow, this is really special," Jung said.

Just like viewers were drawn to Girard's bubbly, sweet and genuine personality, so was Jung.

"It's like, when you know you know, right?" Jung said. "When I saw the way that she talked not only to me, but the people around her, I thought, 'Here's someone who's so sweet that I want to spend more time with.'"

For Girard, Jung checks "all the boxes."

"He's very confident and so funny and he just makes me feel amazing every time I walk into a room with him," she said.

Together, the two have been enjoying going on walks, going out and about in downtown Milwaukee and Racine, and being social. They've been to a Milwaukee Brewers game — Girard threw out the first pitch at one recently — had tapas at Olde Madrid and drinks on the Eave rooftop.

Jung — who lives on Racine's Memorial Day parade route — invited Girard to his annual get-together last month. Despite it being so early on for them, Girard obliged and met his family and friends there.

"I really got thrown in," she said, laughing.

"The deep end of the pool," Jung added.

"I just got to see what I was seeing from Trevor already just reflected in his relationships and his friendships and the people he surrounds himself with," Girard continued. "It was really, really nice to meet everybody and get to know them."

"Regardless of if there's 100 people or just the two of us, we just have an amazing time together," Jung said.

Has Trevor Jung watched his girlfriend Grace Girard's season of 'Farmer Wants a Wife'?

Nope! But, his family and friends have and have given him the rundown.

With Girard having a "presence made for the movies," Jung said, her being on a TV show was "not surprising at all" to him.

"I'm just so proud of her when she goes out and about and people recognize her," he said. "It's very sweet and she's so humble. It just makes me smile to know that, even though she won the show, that I get to call her my girlfriend."

He thinks it would be fun to watch her season sometime and said he'll make sure he has plenty of popcorn handy when he does.

"Obviously, the fans saw how much I love Wisconsin and how I probably could never leave here," Girard said. "So, it's been really, really nice to find what I was looking for in my backyard."
