A funky new pizza franchise is headed for Barrancas this fall. Find out who here:

Downtown Pensacola is getting its own slice of heaven with a new Lost Pizza Co. location slated for 1200 Barrancas Ave.

The Mississippi-based pizza company first made its Escambia County debut at 550 E. Nine Mile Road, which was leased to Lost Pizza Co. in 2018. Pensacola was the farthest South the franchise has ever ventured.

Nine Mile location General Manager Hunter Quinton said the company is hoping to have the new location open by November, but there is work on the parking lot causing the hold-up.

Since Lost Pizza Co. is a franchise, the downtown location should have a very similar menu and prices as the Nine Mile location, according to Quinton.

The restaurant has a reputation for freshness, from the house-made dough to the hand-cut vegetables, and the creative flavors.

What kind of food is on the Lost Pizza Co. menu?

The latest speciality pie to join Lost Pizza Co. line-up is the “Swamp Thang,” made with an Alfredo sauce base and topped with alligator and andouille sausage, red onion, jalapeños, roasted garlic and cheeses.

The signature pizzas beg you to try something new with offerings like a bacon cheeseburger pizza, pulled pork “Pit Boss” pizza or the popular “Hot Chick” made with a house ranch base and grilled chicken breast tossed in a buffalo wing sauce.

There are plenty of customizable options, whether you like your crust thick or thin, or a healthier cauliflower. They also come in a wide variety of sizes, starting at individual-sized pies and building up to large.

Pizza may be in the franchise’s namesake, but the menu goes far beyond that, tying in influences from the Mississippi Delta, like the signature tamales served with crackers and hot sauce. The eclectic eatery also offers a variety of sandwiches, salads and pastas, in addition to the signature dessert pizza.
