KITTERY, Maine — Haley Art Gallery will host “A Walk Through the Delta” a concert by Poor Howard Stith and Mike “Bullfrog” Rogers on Saturday, June 29, at 7 p.m. The duo will perform a series of songs, with stories and descriptions of the performers, styles, instrumental techniques and themes of the blues masters of the early 1900s to the 1940s. Tickets are $10, payable at the door, and can be reserved by emailing haleygallery@comcast.net or calling 617-584-2580.

For the last 30 years, the 12-string guitar blues master, Poor Howard Stith has been performing barrelhouse blues and Delta blues after emerging on the Minneapolis folk/blues scene in the late 60’s. His 12-string guitar style proved that Delta blues could be found at both ends of the Mississippi River. Over the years he has performed across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Japan entertaining audiences with his impeccable guitar work, heartfelt voice, and seemingly endless supply of anecdotes, puns, and shaggy dog stories.

Mike “Bullfrog” Rogers brings his 40-plus years on the harmonica to the mix with a genre that stretches from folk and country to acoustic and Chicago-style blues and swing. He has recorded over 35 albums and opened for such performers as Emmylou Harris, the Eagles, Jonathan Edwards, James Montgomery, John Paul Hammond and Luther Guitar Johnson.

The Gallery is at 178 Haley Road, Kittery and open Thursdays through Saturdays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visit haleyartgallery.com for more information.
