Downtown Boulder Fall Fest: 5 p.m. Friday, 1300 Block of the Pearl Street Mall, 1325 Pearl St., Boulder. This three-day autumn festival features local food, a large beer/wine/margarita garden, live music, family entertainment and activities, and features the Firefly Handmade Market all along the historic Pearl Street Mall. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. From a scenic overlook, the group will observe and learn about this dramatic and diverse landscape, from the Great Plains to the Continental Divide. After a short and easy walk exploring geologic history, participants can visit the beautiful and historic Sandstone Ranch house to learn about some of the human history associated with this site.
