Here's A List Of Where To Watch Everything Gypsy Rose Blanchard-Related

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who was released from prison on parole in December 2023, has taken social media by storm.

While she was in prison, numerous documentaries and shows told Gypsy's story. She is considered to be a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a psychological disorder in which a caregiver, typically a parent, deliberately causes or fabricates symptoms of illness in someone under their care, usually a child.

The caregiver, in this case, Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard, sought attention and sympathy from medical professionals and others by presenting the child, in this case, Gypsy Rose, as ill or injured. Dee Dee's behavior led to unnecessary tests, treatments, and surgeries. After finding out she was not as sick as her mother made it out to be, Gypsy felt the only way out was to get rid of Dee Dee. In 2015, she and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, came up with a plan to murder her mother.

The plan was put into motion in June 2015 when Godejohn killed Gypsy's mother by stabbing her while Gypsy hid in another room. Gypsy was sentenced to 10 years, while Godejohn is serving life without parole.

Now that she is a free woman, Gypsy Rose Blanchard plans to share more about her life in upcoming shows and documentaries once she regains her freedom. To learn more about the 32-year-old, here is a list of every Gypsy Rose Blanchard-related project and where to watch.

'Mommy Dead and Dearest'

"Mommy Dead and Dearest," released in 2017, came out one year after Gypsy Rose Blanchard was sentenced to 10 years in prison. This acclaimed documentary tells the story of Gypsy Rose and the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, highlighting the events leading up to the crime, including the lifelong abuse Gypsy Rose endured from her mother.

"I always had this stuffed animal or a Barbie doll, [and Dee Dee would] just tell me [to] 'play with your Barbie doll, and when the doctor comes to examine me, just stay in the wheelchair; be calm; play with your doll, and don't move your legs,'" Gypsy said in the documentary on the "unsettling" doctor visits she endured.

MAX describes the documentary as "A treacherous web of lies, child abuse, mental illness, and forbidden love is untangled when the devoted mother of a chronically ill daughter is found dead in her Springfield, Missouri, home."

"Mommy Dead & Dearest" is streaming now on MAX.
