Surfside Beach gets high-thrill racing simulator, arcade

SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — There’s a new entertainment offering on the Grand Strand — a first-of-its-kind in the region that gives people the thrill of motorsports in a safe environment.

Redline Simcade opened to the public on Monday in Surfside Beach.

“We can set up different scenarios. So say you want to pay for an hour. You can have 15 minutes of practice, 15 minutes of qualifying with an opponent and then do a 30-minute scoring race,” co-owner Aaron Flamisch said.

Flamisch is running Redline with his mother, Maureen McGrath.

“We definitely want to make this a place that goes beyond, just like higher tier arcade. We very much want to create a lounge experience,” Flamisch said. “There’s plenty of additions that we’re going to add that’s going to make people want to say, ‘I don’t want to be inside all day.'”

Redline Simcade is open from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays.
