Created by Matt Baker, Hotel Portofino is a British period drama series that revolves around Bella Ainsworth and her family, who run the eponymous hotel in the resort town of Portofino on the Italian Riviera in the 1920s. The first season premiered in the UK on January 27, 2022, and received mostly positive reviews. In February 2023, Hotel Portofino was renewed for a third season. It was reported that the upcoming season would have six episodes like the previous two seasons and the production was slated to begin on the Croatian coastline, where the series has been predominantly filmed since the beginning, and Portofino, Italy.
Jo McGrath, CCO of Eagle Eye Drama, the production company behind Hotel Portofino, said in a statement, “Hotel Portofino is Eagle Eye’s first original commission, so it’s wonderful to see the show being embraced by so many international audiences. The series has a strong ensemble cast of warm characters, beautiful locations, and compelling cliffhanger plotlines – all qualities that help explain its international appeal with audiences. Season three is set to be our most sumptuous yet, with new passions and old rivalries threatening the future of the Ainsworth family.”
The first two seasons premiered in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Given that precedence, there is a considerable chance for season 3 to come out sometime in 2024. This date is an estimation based on the information we have at the time of this writing.
