The NBA is built off of storytelling and rivalries, the latter of which often spill into feuds that go beyond the hardwood. Isiah Thomas revealed this week that he refuses to let go of his beef with Michael Jordan until he receives an apology.

What exactly does he feel MJ has to apologize for? Well, that goes back to The Last Dance docuseries, which provided viewers a nice escape from the harsh realities of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic that forced everyone indoors in 2020. They received an in-depth look at the six-time NBA champion’s run with the Chicago Bulls and his feelings toward players and executives.

Zeke was a recurring guest in the doc, and both he and Air Jordan spoke on the classic 1991 Eastern Conference Finals, where the Bulls defeated the Detroit Pistons. Jordan wasn’t fond of the fact that Thomas walked off the court without shaking his hand, and called him an “a**hole” for it.

Isiah Thomas joined Draymond Green’s eponymous podcast on Tuesday (March 12) and held nothing back regarding his feelings toward Michael Jordan. The Golden State Warriors forward was curious if Thomas and Jordan could ever reconcile their differences, and Thomas had one condition.

“This dude got on national television, international television, and called me an a**hole,” he said. “Somebody who’s been really good to him. And until he apologizes on international television, we—no conversation.”

To reference the popular social media phrase, Thomas wants the apology to be as loud as the disrespect. “You can’t apologize and have a private dinner when you done embarrassed me publicly,” he asserted. “If you didn’t mean it, say it publicly. Now if you meant it, let it stand. I’m good with that.” Watch the full interview below.

While Thomas may hold onto the disrespect from Michael Jordan, he was given his flowers last year by fast-rising sports analysts, Cam’ron and Ma$e. The It Is What It Is duo named Thomas the greatest point guard of all time when they met up with him at a Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets game last May.

“We here with the best point guard ever,” Killa Cam said in the clip. “Ever, what the f**k is you talking about? Listen, man, ever ni**a. It Is What It Is.”
