Jada Pinkett Smith Is Proving That She Is Will Smith's 'Ride or Die' Despite Separation

While promoting her book, Worthy, last fall, Jada Pinkett Smith dropped a bombshell on fans, revealing she and Will Smith had been separated for seven years. The jaw-dropping news pieced together rumors about the state of their marriage, a slap heard around the world, and her entanglement with August Alsina, but she also wanted everyone to know that divorce was not an option for them.

As the press tour for Smith’s Bad Boys: Ride Or Die has been making the rounds around the globe, it’s clear that he will always have Pinkett Smith by his side — they are a joint package. She was recently spotted with him at a screening in Dubai, and again on Thursday at the premiere in Los Angeles. They even posed together, just the two of them, to show off their united front. (You can see the photo HERE.) Pinkett Smith looked stunning in a sheer nude dress that hugged her gorgeous curves, and her signature platinum buzzcut. Smith wore an all-black outfit with an embroidered blazer and a beanie.

Last October, Pinkett Smith revealed the state of her marriage in an interview with Hoda Kotb during an NBC News special. She made it very clear that “it was not a divorce on paper, but it was a divorce.” The couple had become “exhausted with trying” to make their marriage work because “we were both still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.” They are “still figuring it out,” but the duo is sticking together through thick and thin even if they are not together in a traditional sense.

Smith delicately avoided talking about his separation from Pinkett Smith on the red carpet on Thursday night, only making a general comment about seeing his son Trey, 31, standing next to co-star Martin Lawrence’s daughter, Jasmin, 28. “We had newborns around the time of the first Bad Boys, he told Entertainment Tonight. “So, to have them here in their 30s is like [mind-blowing].”

The former couple doesn’t seem to be interested in talking about the status of their union anymore, but their tight family bond is probably all anyone needs to know.
