James Corden is apparently considering quitting Hollywood to bring his family home to live in the UK.

The Gavin and Stacey star moved to Los Angeles in 2015 to take over hosting The Late Late Show. His wife Julia moved with him and they are parents to eight-year-old son Max, and daughters Carey, four and 18-month-old Charlotte.

Corden, 40, brought US chat show to London for a series of specials this week, and told the audience: "It's great to be back here in my home town of London. I've lived in America for four years now, my children have American accents and everything. It's terrible!"

Speaking before the show about filming his show in London he said: “It’s special for many reasons. We get to come home - thats a glorious feeling itself anyway. Getting to come home is lovely at Christmas, it’s particularly special to come back with this show that we all feel very proud of.

“To come back and showcase what for me is the greatest in the world, is a really lovely thing to do.”

The British comedian - whose family were in the audience to watch him perform on home turf - has told the Stagecraft podcast he is thinking of quitting the US to move back to the UK.

He confessed: “I have a year left on my contract. It’s a hard. It’s so much more than just, ‘What do I want to do?’

“We’re a long way from home, my wife and I, and our children, and there are people at home that we miss deeply and we care about and they’re getting older.

"Then there is the question of where do we educate our children and where is the best environment for them.”

On the show Corden also discussed Brexit with guest Tom Hanks.

Corden said: “What I'd love is to forget the whole thing ever happened. No one knew what they were doing or what was happening."
