Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s separation was fuel to the debut season of The Valley. We watched the breakdown of their marriage after seeing their entire relationship journey unfold during their Vanderpump Rules days. Now that they’re settled and parents, it wasn’t exactly the happily ever after they imagined.

Jax and Brittany’s separation has been filled with rumors, gossip, and scandal. One of the most perplexing aspects of the split has been how amicable Jax and Brittany are throughout the whole thing. Sure, they’re always going to have to co-parent civilly for their kid. However, they’re still recording their podcast together and seemingly hanging out as if the blowup never happened.

Jax and Brittany’s puzzling status

During the latest episode of the duo’s “When Reality Hits” podcast, Jax and Brittany talked about how they celebrated Father’s Day together with an overnight trip with their son. Brittany explained that she understood why fans might be confused about the status of their marriage these days. She went as far as to say that the pair “don’t understand” the situation themselves, which is worrisome.

Jax decided to throw more fuel into the confusing fire by explaining something that happened during the trip.  “It was just so weird that you were like, ‘Should we have sex right now?'” Jax said. Brittany didn’t deny it, but she totally knew why her potential ex decided to share that tidbit with their podcast listeners. “I think that you just really want people to know,” she said. Amen to that Brittany. Now, hopefully, she remembers why she decided to leave Jax in the first place when she thinks about dipping back into their romantic relationship.
