Jennifer Aniston Moves BFF Courteney Cox to Tears with Bday Message (& Reveals Cox's Nickname in the Process)

Jennifer Aniston is continuing her time-honored tradition of sharing a birthday tribute to her best friend Courteney Cox—and per usual, I'm feeling all the nostalgia.

On Instagram, the Morning Show star celebrated her best friend and former co-star's birthday with a slideshow of throwback photos and a heartfelt message, complete with a reference to her special nickname for Cox. The actress wrote, "Celebrating this powerful, magical, mystical, interesting, interested, ferociously talented girl today!!! My sweet CC @courteneycoxofficial… she’s funny like no other, STUNNING on the inside and out."

Aniston also gushed about Cox's best qualities adding, "Independent in the most gorgeous way, cares for everyone even if she doesn’t know you. Terrified of dogs even though I’ve never known her NOT to have at least two of them. Fiercely loyal to the end. She’ll redecorate a room like nobody’s business. Spot a smudge on a window from a mile (literally) away. She doesn’t care what other people think!!"

She continued, "I can’t imagine a world without her. It’s one of my great honors to call her one of my best friends for life…Happy happy birthday CC. I love you!"

The post, which has more than four million likes, includes a throwback pic from a red carpet event, a screenshot of one of their video chats, a clip from their iconic sitcom, Friends, and a few fun selfies.

In the comments, Cox replied, "Wow well I’m in tears. That's the sweetest thing I’ve ever read. I love you so much." The star also added a crying emoji and a few red heart emojis.

Fellow actress Goldie Hawn wrote, "Happy happy birthday Courteney! Jennifer there is so much love in your tribute and well deserved for one Courteney Cox, a true amazing force of nature! Love abound!" Alyssa Milano also commented, "This made me so happy."

Aniston and Cox became fast friends after meeting on the set of Friends, and they've remained close ever since. In fact, when Cox received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023, an emotional Aniston said in her speech, “To be friends with Courteney is to be family with Courteney. She’s responsible for all of that. From the beginning of Friends, she was immediately inclusive, warm, loving, interested in everything about you.”
