Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek is on crutches after he snapped his Achilles tendon while trying to foil a burglary attempt, ABC's San Francisco affiliate reports.

Trebek, 71, also injured his other leg when he fell while chasing a thief at his San Francisco hotel at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. A female burglar entered the game show host's room and stole cash, a bracelet from his mother, as well as other items. The woman hid the items near an ice machine, and Trebek hurt himself while pursuing her down the hallway.
