Jessica Biel returns to TV in first look at USA’s ‘The Sinner’

Jessica Biel is coming back to TV and we’ve got your first look right here.

Executive produced by the actress herself, the first season of USA’s anthology drama The Sinner follows a young mother named Cora (Biel) who is overcome by a fit rage and commits a startling act of violence. The mother is horrified because she doesn’t know why she did it, and that’s the question that will drive the season. Bill Pullman (pictured below) plays Detective Harry Ambrose, who becomes obsessed with uncovering Cora’s motives and works with her to probe the depths of her psyche and the violent secrets hidden from her past.

Don’t worry if these first look images aren’t enough to satiate you because there’s more exciting news: Biel will be dropping by NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight to exclusively premiere the new trailer for The Sinner, which is set to air on USA Network this summer.

Based on Petra Hammesfahr’s book by the same name, The Sinner is executive produced by Derek Simonds (When We Rise), who wrote the pilot, Biel’s producing partner Michelle Purple, Charlie Gogolak (This Is Us), and pilot director Antonio Campos (Christine).

It’s been 15 years since Biel starred on a television show. After leaving 7th Heaven as a series regular at the end of the sixth season, she starred in several movies, guested in the season 4 premiere of New Girl, and lent her voice to Netflix’s BoJack Horseman.

The Tonight Show airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC. The Sinner will debut this summer on USA.
