John Travolta Makes Fans Melt With Photo of Tiny Pup Peanut: ‘She Hit the Jackpot’

John Travolta is making his fans’ hearts melt with an adorable throwback photo of his family’s dog, Peanut.

The Pulp Fiction actor first met the tiny pup at the 2022 Oscars. His family went on to adopt the rescue dog, whose name used to be Mac N Cheese, shortly thereafter.

In the photo that Travolta, 70, shared on Instagram on Sat., June 22, he held Peanut in his arms while dressed in the purple suit he wore onstage while presenting at the 94th Annual Academy Awards on March 27, 2022. The Grease star had his head bent down near the puppy’s head, as if he was about to plant a kiss between its floppy ears.

“The day we adopted Peanut on Oscar night! She’s brought the biggest joy to our family,” he wrote in his Instagram caption.

Fans and fellow actors alike left comments on the post as they gushed over the adorable snapshot.

“She is so cute,” actress Kristin Chenoweth wrote while actress Tatum O’Neal left a trio of red heart emojis.

“Love it😍😍😍,” actor Timothy Murphy commented.

“I wonder if she knows she’s JOHN TRAVOLTA’s DOG?!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰,” one fan wondered as another said they “Love this sweet photo of little Peanut and you.”

Peanut is “adorable just like you John. ❤️,” one Instagram user said as another praised the “Very sweet photo of you 💋.”

"Peanut hit the jackpot with the Travolta family! ❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻," one person noted.

Back at the 2022 Oscars ceremony, actress Jamie Lee Curtis brought Peanut onstage during a tribute to the late Betty White. Curtis noted how White had throughout her life been dedicated to supporting animal rescue organizations, and urged viewers and audience members to consider adoption the next time they wanted to bring a new pet into their lives.

The Saturday Night Fever star and his family immediately took Curtis up on her recommendation. As the actor noted in an Instagram post the very next day, his son Ben, now 13, “adopted this dog from last nights Oscar tribute to Betty White.” The father-son duo were all smiles as they posed with the pup in what would become Peanut’s first of many appearances on Travolta’s Instagram feed.
