Jonathan Majors will no longer be playing Dennis Rodman in the tentatively titled feature 48 Hours in Vegas. In addition, Lionsgate is no longer involved with the project, Deadline has confirmed, which has been released to its producers, Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Aditya Sood. If the project were to be shopped around again, we understand, it will be with another actor playing the power Chicago Bulls power forward.

The screenplay, written by Jordan VanDina, follows Rodman’s zany trip to Las Vegas in the midst of the 1998 NBA finals.

CNN first had the news.

Following the guilty verdict, Majors was also dropped by Marvel Studios; the actor had played the villainous Kang the Conqueror in Disney+ series Loki and in the movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The character was slated to appear in future MCU movies, including 2026’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Majors sat down recently with Good Morning America to talk about being convicted of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

The Creed III actor said in a teary interview, “I’m standing there and the verdict comes down. I say, ‘How is that possible based off the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence? How is that possible?’”
