Justin Timberlake Arrested For Driving While Intoxicated, Singer Is In Police Custody

Justin Timberlake was taken into custody by police for allegedly driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons.

According to reports, the singer was arrested on Monday night and has been scheduled to appear in court today.

The Grammy award-winning artist Justin Timberlake was arrested on a DWI charge amid his ongoing tour.

Justin Timberlake Has Reportedly Been Arrested On A DWI Charge

Timberlake is currently in police custody after police arrested him last night for driving while intoxicated.

Multiple news outlets have reported that the singer has been charged with a DWI and is set to appear in court today and that the police plan to release a statement on the incident.

According to TMZ, sources revealed that the 43-year-old went to dinner with pals on Monday night at a hotel in Sag Harbor.

Then, at around one and a half in the morning, Timberlake reportedly got into his car to head back to his residence, but as he began driving, he was pulled over by police.

The Singer Allegedly Refused To Take A Breathalyzer Test

According to the news outlet, Timberlake put up some resistance after being confronted by the police.

Law enforcement sources revealed that the singer was with pals at the American Hotel in New York and that shortly after he left the venue in his vehicle, he blew past a stop sign, which prompted police officers to drive after him.

The cops eventually decided to pull him over when they noticed his car "swerving." When he was stopped, Timberlake was reportedly subjected to a field sobriety test; however, he allegedly refused to undergo a breathalyzer test.

When Timberlake's friends arrived at the scene, they attempted to persuade the police to let him go but were unsuccessful. They then handcuffed and arrested the singer, with the whole incident reportedly captured on body cam.

Update: Just past 10 AM local time, Justin Timberlake was spotted outside for the first time since his arrest, as per Daily Mail. The singer donned a black jacket, along with a black cap and sunshades.

Justin Timberlake Is Presently On Tour

The singer is presently on tour and is set to appear in Chicago on Friday for a performance.

In February, he revealed that he had to cancel a show due to illness. At the time, Timberlake issued an apology on his Instagram Story, where he mentioned he was "gutted" about not being able to perform after being "so excited" about it.

"Hi everybody…This is an unfortunate video to have to send out, but I'm sure you can tell from the sound of things that I am not going to be able to make it to the show on Friday," Timberlake said in the post, per Billboard.

He added, "As you may or may not know, I've been battling some kind of bug. And I thought it was getting better but it just took a turn for the worse."

He Rescheduled New UK Tour Dates

Shortly after speaking about his illness, Timberlake shared new dates on his Instagram page. He noted that his return will cover three UK dates: Birmingham's Utilita Arena (August 7), Manchester's Co-op Live (August 8), and London's O2 (August 11).

The concerts are a part of the singer's "Forget Tomorrow World Tour," which also covers Europe, North America, and Canada.

Timberlake's tour marked his return to touring after a five-year hiatus since his last road trip for his fifth studio album, "Man of the Woods."

The tour began in Vancouver, Canada, in April and will conclude in North America in December. Tickets to some of the shows have already sold out.

Timberlake first hinted at his new tour in January this year during an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon."

However, as per reports, Spears' information did not affect his relationship with his wife, Jessica Biel.
