Justin Timberlake was arrested in New York’s Hamptons after being accused of driving while under the influence, authorities confirmed Tuesday.

The “Cry Me a River” singer was taken into custody justbefore 1 a.m. Tuesday in Sag Harbor, located on the eastern end of Long Island, after an officer saw his BMW run a stop sign and he failed to stay in his lane, the Sag Harbor Police Department said in a statement.

“A traffic stop was initiated by a police officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition,” the statement said.

He was taken into custody, held overnight for a morning arraignment and then released at 9:30 a.m. on his own recognizance, police said.

The 43-year-old is currently on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which started in April. His latest performance was Saturday in Miami, and he is scheduled to next perform in Chicago on Friday.
