But, luckily for all the show’s fans, Cuoco recently chatted with SheKnows and gave us all a taste of what she’s working on from Based on a True Story to her eco-friendly pet brand Oh Norman! and their exciting search for a Chief Treat Officer — a new paid position in the company.

Kaley Cuoco Says ‘Based on a True Story’ Season 2 Is in the Works

“We just went back to work, and I am so excited to say that season two is going to deliver so much more of what made season one so special,” The Big Bang Theory alum told us exclusively.

“I love that you can’t define this show as one genre,” the mom of one adds. “It makes for a very entertaining program and allows for us to have a lot of fun as actors!”

In the first season of the show, Cuoco’s Ava and her husband Nathan (Chris Messina) get wrapped up in an investigation (and true crime podcast) about their suspicions surrounding their plumber-turned-friend Matt (Tom Bateman).

Based on a True Story season two will see Ava and Nathan return for a new true crime adventure. The show was picked up for a second season back in October 2023.

In March, Deadline confirmed that Physical creator Annie Weisman would be helming the second season, replacing creator Craig Rosenberg who remains an executive producer. Cuoco and Messina also executive produce the series alongside Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan.

Before Ava, Cuoco was on a roll of playing some complex and badass female characters like Emma in Role Play or Cassie in The Flight Attendant. When asked what she’s looking for in roles recently, Cuoco kept it coy. “I am always looking to connect with the character and to work with talented, creative and collaborative partners,” Cuoco says.

Kaley Cuoco for Oh Norman!

In addition to the sophomore season of Based on a True Story, Cuoco recently announced her healthy dog product company, Oh Norman!, is hiring a Chief Treat Officer. “We are also looking for a dog who isn’t camera shy and doesn’t mind showcasing our new product launches on social media,” Cuoco says about the role. In a statement, Oh Norman! states the paid job responsibilities will include “product testing, social media deliverables, and (of course) being a good dog.”

“The best part about my work with Oh Norman! is meeting so many beautiful dogs through our partnered shelters and helping a cause that has always meant the world to me,” Cuoco says, adding that the most challenging part is “not being able to adopt them all.”

“It’s a weekly restraint to not return home with a new family member,” Cuoco admits. We get it!

As a reminder, Cuoco’s brand is inspired by the actress’ late dog, Norman, who passed in 2021. “From day one of Oh Norman! I always said I wanted every purchase to give back to dogs like him, Norman was a rescue dog so it was important to me,” Cuoco says. “Even when we are creating new products, Norman’s presence is a part of the creation process as I want to deliver products that would have been good enough for him, and sometimes he did need to calm the eff down…”

Think your dog has what it takes to be Oh Norman!’s newest CTO? Applications are open on their website until September, 13. Good luck!
