The Wales family might be going through a tough time at the moment given the Princess of Wales's cancer diagnosis (which BTW occurred around the same time as King Charles's similar news), but it seems as though the difficulties have only served to strengthen their bond. Case in point? Kate Middleton just posted the sweetest birthday tribute to her husband of 13 years, along with a new photo of their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

On the official Instagram account for the Prince and Princess of Wales, a fun image of Prince William jumping off a sand dune while holding hands with his children was shared to mark the future king's 42nd birthday.

A touching message accompanied the snap, which was personally signed off with a "C" for Catherine and a kiss: "Happy birthday Papa, we all love you so much! Cx."

The photographer behind the image was not tagged or mentioned, but it may as well have been Kate herself (who over the years has taken a buncha intimate family portraits, many of which have been shared publicly to mark special occasions such as birthdays).

The snap and poignant message went down very well with the account's 16.3 million followers, with one commenter writing, "Possibly the best picture I’ve seen of the family."

Another added, "Happy birthday Prince William! 😍 It’s been a rough year for all of you but I’m sure the love of your family will always help you! Wishing you all the best! 😍❤️."

Photographer Millie Pilkington, who has previously worked with the royal family and even captured a portrait of William and Kate on their wedding day, also dropped her thoughts into the comment section: "One of the best family portraits ever. Captures all the joy, love and laughter. Utterly brilliant @princeandprincessofwales. 🙌❤️👏"

It's great to see the Princess of Wales slowly engaging more with the public again as she continues on with her recovery—and we're sure this latest offering is bound to make many of her fans's days.
