Kelsea Ballerini Reveals She Has Matching Tattoos with Boyfriend Chase Stokes

The Grammy nominee revealed she and the 'Outer Banks' star both have tattoos in honor of their shared zodiac sign

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes share a zodiac sign — and now matching tattoos!

Ballerini, 30, opened up to Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast about her relationship with the Outer Banks star and divulged that the couple recently received matching tattoos.

Cooper, 29, was thanking the singer for opening up about her relationship when Ballerini quickly revealed, "Well now I spilled it on here that we have matching tattoos, so we can’t break up," joked the singer.

Cooper then asked the singer to repeat herself, leading the “Penthouse” singer to confirm that they "have little Virgo [tattoos].”

Cooper quickly asked Ballerini to confirm whether or not she got the tattoo with her boyfriend, 31, or had it before their relationship.

“We got it like three weeks ago,” replied the "Peter Pan" singer. As Cooper asked a couple more questions about the matching tattoos, Ballerini jokingly replied, “I’m sweating.”

But as the pair continued to discuss the singer’s relationship, Ballerini admitted the couple decided to embrace their shared zodiac sign and all of the earth sign's traits. “I used to really resent my ‘Virgo-ness’ because, to me, it was like a control freak — just needing power in a lot of situations in relationships.”

“He's a Virgo too. He and I have like really allowed ourselves to love that part of ourselves and each other,” continued Ballerini. “Just the need to communicate well and be loyal — and planning is not a bad thing when it's like for the right things — all those things. It's just like a thing that kind of defines us.”

The Call Her Daddy host continued to ask the Grammy nominee questions about her relationship with the Outer Banks star. Ballerini recalled the first time they met in person, which came after weeks of “texting and Facetiming” following her sliding into his DMs in December 2022.

Ballerini was in L.A. in early January and said that she texted Stokes that it was “crazy” they were in the same place and not together, to which he replied, “Drop your pin.”

“So he came to this party that I was playing, and I had just gotten done playing. And I was… 'Guys – I’m sweating just thinking about this. I thought I was gonna pass out,'” she shared of her nerves before meeting him for the first time.

“You can have chemistry over the phone but when you see each other you’re like, what’s the height difference, are we… are you… I didn’t know what to do. And so I walked out to his car, and he got out of his Bronco — hot.”

Ballerini then revealed exactly how the pair made their first impressions. "He hopped out of his Bronco and he did not say a word to me, and he grabbed my face and he kissed me and he pulled my face away and he was like, ‘Thank God you’re real.’ And I was like, ‘Oh.’ ”
