Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat CEO Thai Randolph Exits; Star Will Serve as Top Exec in Interim

Hartbeat CEO Thai Randolph is stepping down from her post after close to seven years at Kevin Hart’s entertainment company.

Randolph is leaving to “pursue new endeavors,” according to a statement, but will remain a strategic advisor to Hart. Until a new CEO can be appointed, Hart, who is currently chairman of the company, will act in the role in an interim position.

I couldn’t be prouder of the meteoric growth and incredible impact we’ve driven over the years. My passions are telling stories and building businesses, and for the past seven years, I’ve been able to do just that alongside some of the best partners, colleagues, and creators in the industry.  As I move on to further explore those passions, I will continue to cheer on the Hartbeat team as they advance the ever-important mission of keeping the world laughing together,” Randolph said.

Randolph led the 2022 merger of Hart’s two entertainment companies Hartbeat Productions and Laugh Out Loud, which were combined to form Hartbeat, and additionally raised $100 million from Abry Partners for the new company. The company released more than 20 projects in 2022 and has released 18 projects so far in 2023, with more than 70 in development.

Before being appointed CEO of Hartbeat, Randolph was president & COO of Laugh Out Loud, a Hartbeat brand, and COO of HartBeat Productions.
